Description

There is a stillness to silver that gold rarely attempts. This maang tikka is set in sterling silver, its pendant measuring ten centimetres in length and approximately two-and-three-quarter centimetres in width, and it carries the quiet authority of a piece that understands restraint. At fifteen grams, it sits with presence without imposing weight. The centrepiece is a moissanite stone, chosen for its exceptional refractive clarity, its facets drawing light in a manner that rivals the finest Polki workshops of Jaipur without imitating them. The setting follows a classical teeka silhouette: a drop pendant suspended from a fine adjustable chain that parts the hair at the centre parting. The sterling silver has been worked to a polished finish, the metal cool and clean against the skin, the moissanite anchored in a close-set mount that holds the stone flush and secure. Worn at a winter wedding in a ivory silk organza saree, this tikka becomes the only adornment one needs above the neck. Equally, it translates beautifully over a deep-hued Benarasi for a reception, where the silver reads as deliberate counterpoint to gold-threaded textile. Free-sized by design, the adjustable chain accommodates varying hairline lengths with ease, making this a practical choice for daily bridal preparation without the fuss of resizing. The sterling silver construction means it will not tarnish quickly with reasonable care, and the polished surface requires only a soft cloth to restore its original brightness.
