Description

There are necklaces that announce themselves, and then there is this one, which simply arrives. The Passa takes its name from the maang-tikka's lateral cousin, the hair ornament that once graced the temples of Mughal court women, swept to one side like a whispered confidence. Here, that heritage travels from the hairline to the throat in a necklace that borrows the Passa's signature pendant drop and its devotion to layered geometry. Worked entirely in brass, a metal beloved by artisans across Rajasthan for its warmth and its willingness to hold intricate pressed and cast forms, the piece carries that particular antique-gold depth that only base metals age into so honestly. At fifty-three grams, the weight is present but never punishing, distributing itself across a freeform silhouette that sits flat against the collarbone without twisting or pulling. Pair it with an ivory block-printed kurta and raw silk trousers for a daytime literary gathering; or let it anchor a deep-toned Chanderi saree at an evening mehendi, where the brass reads like heirloom gold under warm indoor light. The piece is offered in a single free size, intended to suit a standard neckline comfortably. The brass finish is sealed to slow tarnish and bears no sharp edges on its back fittings, making it easy to wear through long occasions without discomfort. A simple lobster or toggle clasp, sympathetic to the weight, ensures independent dressing without assistance.
