Inside the Exotic India atelier

since 1998,

Heirlooms, made by hand, and sent across the world.

Exotic India began as a small room in Delhi with one belief: that the finest Indian craft deserves to be seen, worn and kept, not stored away in a museum case.

For over twenty-five years we have worked directly with karigars, the gold-setters, enamellers and chain-makers whose families have practised these techniques for generations. No middlemen, no factory floors. Every Kundan setting, Meenakari enamel and temple casting we sell was made by someone we know by name.

That relationship is the whole business. It lets us price fairly, pay fairly, and tell you honestly how a piece was made, down to the week it took to finish. It also means small irregularities: the signature of hand-work, never a defect.

Today our pieces travel to 161 countries, checked, insured and hand-wrapped in cotton, each with a short note about the hands that made it.

The journey

1998

One room, one trunk

We start sourcing temple jewellery and silver from South India, packing orders by hand for a handful of collectors abroad.

2006

Into the clusters

We move upstream, working directly inside Jaipur's Kundan workshops and Nathdwara's enamel studios instead of buying through wholesalers.

2015

Checked, every piece

Independent quality checks become standard across our gold and silver range, with in-house certificates for every alloy piece.

2026

The Shahpur Jat studio

Our Delhi studio opens its doors for try-ons, resizing and lifetime cleaning, the same pieces you see online, in your hands.
