Description

There is a particular stillness to a maang tikka that sits at the centre-parting like a full stop at the end of a considered thought. This piece draws from the long tradition of forehead ornaments worn across Rajasthan and the northern plains, where floral motifs have always been the karigar's first language. Cast in brass and finished to catch light without shouting for it, the tikka is built around a layered floral disc at the crown, its petals suggesting the geometry beloved of Jaipur's workshop tradition. A suspended pearl drop trails beneath, its gentle weight creating the soft sway that gives a maang tikka its quiet movement. At just four grams, the piece rests with the ease of something worn daily rather than borrowed for ceremony alone. It is offered in white and green, each colourway reading differently against skin: the white pearl-toned version cool and classical, the green reading festive and richly pigmented. The full length sits at roughly 18.3 centimetres (7.2 inches), making the chain generous enough to anchor securely through most hair textures. Wear the white version with an ivory or blush tissue silk saree for a bride's mehndi, or set the green against a dark mirror-work lehenga for a wedding guest who wishes to be noticed without effort. Free-sized and practical, the tikka fastens through a simple hook and loop closure designed for solo dressing. The brass base lends durability while keeping the piece light enough for hours of comfortable wear.
