Description

There is something quietly ceremonial about a bloom held in place above a gathered chignon. This juda pin is worked in the Kundan tradition, where a brass base is prepared with careful patience before each stone is set within fine metal foils, pressed by hand into the setting without heat. The floral motif at the crown of the pin is the organising principle here: petals radiate outward in a formal arrangement, and the Kundan stones catch available light in the particular way that foil-backed setting allows, neither glittering nor dull but luminous in the manner of old Rajasthani court jewellery. At 3.4 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide (approximately 8.6 cm by 3 cm), the pin carries genuine visual weight without overpowering the hairstyle it adorns. The piece weighs 19 grams, which keeps it stable once seated in the hair. For a daytime silk saree in ivory or dusty rose, this pin anchors a low bun with understated formality. For a mehndi or engagement ceremony, it reads as an heirloom gesture when worn alongside traditional gold jewellery in a similar Kundan vocabulary. The pin slides into gathered hair and holds through its own length, requiring no additional clasp. The brass base is finished to complement the stones rather than distract from them. Free size suits all hair volumes, and the weight is distributed evenly across the shaft, making it comfortable to wear through several hours of a celebration.
