Description

A single leaf, held in brass, becomes a quiet declaration of botanical grace. The leaf motif has long been a recurring grammar in Indian jewellery, from the pipal leaves etched into temple ornaments to the stylised foliage that frames Meenakari panels in Jaipur workshops. Here, the form is rendered in faceted brass, each angled plane catching and redirecting light in the manner of hand-cut stone, giving the surface a luminous, almost mineral quality without the weight of precious metal. At 4.7 inches wide and 2.2 inches tall (approximately 11.9 cm by 5.6 cm), this is a piece of genuine presence, a broad, almost architectural spread across the collarbone. The brass finish is warm and honeyed, neither mirror-bright nor too oxidised, sitting in that pleasing middle register that ages thoughtfully with wear. The full piece weighs 41 grams, substantial enough to feel considered on the body. Wear it against the wide neckline of a handloom mul cotton kurta for a day wedding or art gallery opening, where the botanical silhouette reads as intentional rather than ornamental. Equally, it dresses down a silk slip with effortless authority for an evening gathering that calls for restraint with impact. Offered in free size, the piece fits most necklines without adjustment. The brass construction is light enough for extended wear and requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to retain its warm, faceted finish.
