Description

She rides the sea, sovereign and serene, and now she rests at your throat in sterling silver. Vahanvati Sikotar Mata is the presiding deity of mariners and coastal communities along the Saurashtra and Kathiawadi seaboard, her iconography inseparable from the vessel she commands. This pendant renders her in sterling silver with the quiet authority her devotees have always accorded her: a compact silhouette measuring 1.3 inches in height and 0.8 inches in width (approximately 3.3 cm by 2 cm), worked to capture the goddess in her full ceremonial presence. At 6 grams, the piece carries genuine weight without burden. Sterling silver, that most honest of metals, lends itself here to the kind of high-relief devotional casting long practised by silversmiths serving temple traditions across Gujarat and Kutch, where sacred iconography is treated as liturgy rendered in metal rather than mere ornament. The surface retains an oxidised depth that gives definition to every line of drapery, gesture and crown. Wear her on a fine silver chain over an ivory chanderi kurta for a puja morning, or layer her against a deep indigo silk blouse at an intimate family gathering where faith and festivity meet without ceremony. The pendant is free size by nature, designed to sit on any chain gauge the wearer chooses. The sterling silver will age gracefully with occasional polishing, and its 6-gram solidity ensures the bail holds true through daily devotion.
