Description

Twelve sacred flames, caught forever in sterling silver. Lord Shiva presides at the centre of this pendant in an engraved relief portrait, encircled by the names and emblems of all twelve Jyotirlingas, those luminous points of divine presence spread across the subcontinent from Somnath to Kedarnath. The work is entirely in sterling silver, its surface brought to a bright polish that throws the hand-engraved lettering and iconography into clear relief against softly recessed grounds. At roughly 1.20 inches in height by 0.95 inches in width (approximately 3.05 cm by 2.41 cm), the pendant holds considerable devotional detail within a compact oval or shield-like silhouette. Weighing just four grams, it sits close to the body without pull. The engraving tradition here belongs to a lineage of silverwork practised across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, where karigars have long inscribed sacred texts and deity portraits onto small silver medallions with fine steel gravers, line by patient line. Wear it on a simple sterling silver chain under a cream linen kurta for daily puja mornings, or layer it over a silk dupatta during Shravan, letting it rest at the throat as a quiet declaration of faith. The free-size bail accommodates most chain widths. Sterling silver at this gauge resists everyday knocks well; a soft cloth buff restores its brightness after wear. Compact enough for constant use, significant enough to matter.
