Description
Three symbols that hold a cosmos: the trishul, the damru and Nandi, rendered in one devotional pendant. Sterling silver is the truest medium for such iconography, and generations of silversmiths working in the devotional-jewellery traditions of Varanasi and Rajasthan have understood why. Its cool lustre neither competes with nor diminishes the sacred geometry it carries. Here, the trishul rises vertically at centre, flanked by the damru whose twin-faced drum body is precisely articulated in the silver, while Nandi anchors the composition with quiet authority below. The pendant measures 1.10 inches (2.79 cm) in height and 0.45 inches (1.14 cm) in width, making it a composition of considered restraint rather than ostentation. At 2 grams, the silverwork is light enough to be worn from morning puja to an evening gathering without fatigue. On a workday, thread it onto a simple black silk cord beneath an ivory cotton kurta, letting it rest at the collarbone as a private act of faith. For a festive occasion, pair it with a Maheshwari silk saree and a fine sterling chain, where its oxidised detailing will hold its own against heavier gold ornaments nearby. The sterling silver finish is polished to a bright, mirror-smooth surface with gentle oxidation settling into the recessed details to sharpen the motif's definition. The bail accommodates chains of standard width comfortably, and the 2-gram weight ensures all-day ease for the devoted and the aesthetically minded alike.
