Description

There are devotions that do not need to be spoken aloud. The trishul and the damru together form one of Shaivism's most potent visual grammar: the trident that cleaves illusion and the drum whose rhythm called the universe into being. Here, both are rendered in sterling silver, the two symbols interlocked into a single pendant that stands 1.3 inches (approximately 3.3 cm) tall and 0.6 inches (approximately 1.5 cm) wide. Against the cool grey of the silver, a certified natural karungali bead is set at the junction of the two motifs. Karungali, the black ebony wood revered in South Indian sacred tradition, is believed to carry a quieting, protective energy; its deep matte darkness reads beautifully against polished sterling. The pendant weighs 4 grams, substantial enough to feel intentional at the throat, light enough for daily wear. The finish is crisp, the casting clean, the silver carrying the hallmark purity of sterling without excess ornament. Wear it on a simple black cotton thread for meditation or puja mornings; the wood bead and silver speak the same devotional language. For a more considered look, thread it on a fine sterling chain over a handwoven Maheshwari kurta in ivory or rust. Free-sized for a single wearer, the pendant suits any chain width from slim to medium. The sterling silver will develop a gentle patina with time, one that only deepens its character; a soft cloth restores the shine whenever you choose.
