Description

Shiva's weapon, rendered in warm brass, becomes something you carry close. The trishul is among the oldest and most charged symbols in the subcontinent's devotional vocabulary, and here it is translated into a brooch with the directness of a craftsman who trusts the motif to speak without embellishment. Cast in brass and finished to a burnished golden warmth, the piece measures five centimetres tall by roughly four centimetres wide and weighs a composed twenty grams, substantial enough to feel deliberate on the hand, light enough to forget by noon. Brass has long been the material of temple towns, favoured in Nagercoil and Varanasi alike for its resonance with the sacred and its ability to hold a deep, honest lustre that neither pretends to gold nor apologises for itself. The silhouette is clean: three tines rising from a central staff, the proportions spare and unornamented. Pin it to the left shoulder of a hand-woven khadi kurta in natural ivory for a puja morning or a heritage craft fair, letting the brass read against undyed cotton. Alternatively, work it into the lapel of a structured linen blazer worn to an office where considered dressing matters. At two inches by one-and-a-half inches, the brooch sits comfortably on lighter fabrics without pulling. The pin closure is standard and secure. Available in one size, it requires no fitting and transitions from devotional wear to curated everyday dressing with no adjustment whatsoever.
