Description

There are silhouettes that speak before they are explained. This triangular pendant is built around the peacock, India's most enduring jewellery motif, rendered here in Peacockolite, a stone whose layered blue-green tones recall the iridescent eye of an actual feather. The sterling silver setting is substantial without being heavy: at 43.9 grams and measuring roughly 7.1 centimetres in height by 5.7 centimetres in width by 1.3 centimetres in depth, the piece commands the neckline with quiet authority. The triangular frame is a deliberate architectural choice, one that draws on a long tradition of geometric pendants worked in silver across Rajasthan and the tribal belt, where bold form and symbolic stone were prized over filigree delicacy. The silver here carries a finish that honours the weight of the metal, allowing the stone to hold its own chromatic drama, shifting between deep teal and soft aqueous grey depending on the light. Pair it with a cream or ivory chanderi kurta for an intimate gathering where the pendant can be its own conversation. It works equally well over a crisp white silk blouse with a Kanjivaram saree, where the teal of the Peacockolite echoes the border without competing with it. The piece comes in a single free size, with a standard bale suited to most chain weights. Sterling silver requires occasional polishing to maintain its warmth, but it is a metal that only improves with wearing and time.
