Description

There are silences that hold centuries, and this pendant is one of them. Amber dust, pressed and sealed within a sterling silver frame, carries the memory of resin forests and trade routes that once linked the Tibetan plateau to the jewellery ateliers of northern India. The term "amber dust" points to compacted or reconstituted amber, coaxed into a warm, honey-toned form and set flush within a substantial sterling silver surround. The silverwork itself is architectural: a pendant measuring 2.75 inches in height and available in widths of either 1.4 inches (approximately 3.5 cm) or 1.5 inches (approximately 3.8 cm), with a depth of nearly an inch that gives it a commanding, sculptural presence. At 38 grams, the weight is felt, not burdened. The finish has the cool, deliberate patina associated with Tibetan and Himalayan silversmithing traditions, where metal is worked to suggest both protection and prayer. Wear it against the open neckline of a handwoven silk ikkat kurta for a gathering that calls for quiet authority. It reads equally well over a cream linen shirt, where the amber's golden warmth draws the eye without demanding attention. The pendant is offered in free size, designed to sit on most chain widths. The two width options, 1.4 inch and 1.5 inch, allow a considered choice between a more contained silhouette and a fractionally broader presence. Sterling silver requires only occasional polishing to retain its lustre through daily wear.
