Description

There are stones that carry the memory of water, even in the middle of a desert. This teardrop pendant holds a single piece of oyster copper turquoise, its surface a cartography of teal, ivory and rust-brown matrix, set in sterling silver with a bezel that follows the stone's own contours. The turquoise used here is not the uniform blue of treated material; it is the quieter, more complex face of a stone shaped by copper host rock, producing that warm, earthy matrix pattern that has long drawn silversmiths across Rajasthan and the American Southwest alike. Sterling silver, worked to a satin finish, forms the mount and the bale, letting the stone command all attention. The setting is clean and structural, with no filigree distraction, trusting the material entirely. At one point six inches in height by zero point eight inches in width (approximately four by two centimetres) and weighing nine point two six grams, the pendant sits with quiet authority. Pair it with a fine silk kurta in ivory or terracotta for a curated, understated daytime look. It reads equally well against a white linen shirt at an art opening or a gallery visit, where its mineral character invites conversation without demanding it. The free-size bale accommodates a range of chain widths, from a delicate silver box chain to a waxed cord. Sterling silver requires only occasional polishing to maintain its warmth, making this a pendant suited to regular, unhurried wear.
