Description

There are silences in silver that only a filigree worker's hands can speak. Tarakasi, the ancient art of Odisha, is built from patience and wire: sterling silver drawn into threads finer than breath, then coiled, twisted and soldered into lace that seems to defy the weight of metal itself. This pendant carries that tradition in a full floral bloom, the petals fanning outward in concentric rings of interlocked silver scrollwork, each loop a deliberate act of craft rather than manufacture. At 2.35 inches height by 2.15 inches width (roughly 5.97 cm by 5.46 cm), the silhouette is generous without being heavy, and at 23 grams the piece rests with a quiet authority on the collarbone. No stone interrupts the design; the silver itself is the ornament, oxidised lightly in the grooves to throw the raised wirework into relief. Wear it against a ivory or ecru silk kurta for a festival lunch where restraint reads as confidence, or let it anchor a silk-cotton sari blouse on an evening when you wish jewellery to begin a conversation rather than end one. The pendant arrives in sterling silver throughout, sized as a single free-size drop suited to most chain gauges. The finish is matte-bright, the kind that polishes gently back to life with a soft cloth, making this a piece that asks for very little and gives back considerably more with every wearing.
