Description

There is a quietness to silver that gold never quite achieves, and this ring knows it. Wrought in sterling silver and set with a considered cluster of multiple gemstones, this piece draws its sensibility from the older tradition of stone-set silver jewellery that has long flourished in Rajasthan and the hill workshops of the north, where silversmiths work with coloured stones the way a painter works with a limited palette: deliberately, without excess. The stones sit in close-set bezels or prong mounts, each one chosen for colour contrast rather than uniformity, giving the face of the ring the quality of a small, composed painting. At 0.68 inches, roughly 1.73 centimetres in height, the ring has real presence on the hand without crossing into costume. It weighs 6.8 grams, substantial enough to feel purposeful, light enough to forget by afternoon. Wear it against a fine cotton kurta in ivory or slate for a weekday gathering where the occasion does not demand gold but still rewards care. Equally, it holds its own alongside a silk blouse and chanderi sari, where a single statement ring reads with more elegance than stacked gold bands. Available in size 8, the ring suits a standard adult finger and the sterling silver construction means it will develop a gentle patina with wear, one that can be restored to its original lustre with a soft cloth and a little patience.
