Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that carry a whole court within their bezel. This Kundan ring is worked in brass, its broad face set with foiled glass stones arranged in the manner of classic Rajasthani Kundan work: stones pressed into a gold-coloured lac-filled setting, each one bordered by burnished metal so that the composition reads as a continuous field of colour and light. The tradition traces its finest expression to the ateliers of Jaipur, where karigars have spent generations learning to balance the weight of the setting against the geometry of the mount. Here, that discipline produces a cocktail silhouette that feels generous on the finger without tipping into excess. The brass base is finished to a warm, mellow tone, and the ring sits as a single substantial piece, weighing twenty-five grams, a presence you will notice and appreciate. Wear it with a silk kurta in ivory or deep rust for a festive afternoon lunch; or let it anchor the hand at a wedding reception where the rest of your jewellery is deliberately understated. Either way, it draws the eye quietly rather than demanding it. The ring is adjustable and suited to most finger sizes, so it can be shared between wearers or moved across fingers as mood dictates. Brass requires occasional gentle buffing to maintain its lustre; store it away from moisture and direct sunlight to keep the Kundan inlay looking its best.
