Description

There are forms of devotion that need no gilding. Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is rendered here in sterling silver with an exactness that belongs to the quieter, more meditative end of Indian silversmithing. The idol is worked in the round, his posture settled and benevolent, the surface carrying the kind of fine chasing and oxidised detailing that silversmiths across Rajasthan and Bengal have long used to coax depth from a single metal. Suspended beneath him, as both visual anchor and sacred object, is a genuine certified Karungali Rudraksha, the rare ebony-dark bead prized in South Indian and Shaivite traditions for its grounding properties. The pairing is unusual and quietly powerful: the cool weight of the silver above, the organic warmth of the bead below. At 2.1 inches height by 1.1 inches width (approximately 5.3 cm by 2.8 cm) and 12 grams of solid sterling, this is a pendant that carries presence without excess. Wear it against a cotton kurta on a Tuesday morning, or layered close to the throat with a silk sari for a family puja. It settles equally well into quiet everyday ritual and into occasions that ask for intention rather than ornamentation. The sterling silver bail accommodates most chains. At free size, the pendant suits all wearers. The oxidised finish resists casual tarnish, and the certified Rudraksha drop is attached securely enough for daily devotional wear.
