Description

There are stones that carry the night sky inside them, and iolite is one. This sterling silver ring is built around a single iolite cabochon, its deep violet-blue shifting with every angle of light, a quality gemologists call pleochroism. The stone sits in a close bezel setting, the silver collar holding it flush and secure, letting the colour do all the speaking. The band itself is worked in sterling silver, a metal prized for its cool white lustre and its honest weight: this ring measures 1.15 inches in height (approximately 2.9 cm) and weighs a grounded 4 grams, substantial enough to feel deliberate on the finger without overwhelming it.
