Description

Lord Ganesha, rendered in warm brass, carries with him the quiet certainty of a blessing already given. Cast from solid brass and finished to a low burnished glow, this pendant belongs to a long tradition of devotional metal craft that stretches from the temple workshops of Nagercoil to the bazaar ateliers of Jaipur. The form is compact and assured: Ganesha seated in his characteristic rotund silhouette, trunk gently curved, his broad form filling a neat 1.3 inches in height by 1 inch in width (approximately 3.3 cm by 2.5 cm). Coloured stones are set directly into the brass body, likely in a simple bezel or rub-over style, adding jewel-like accents of colour against the amber warmth of the metal. At 6.5 grams, the piece carries real, perceptible weight without being heavy. Brass, long used in sacred objects across India, lends this pendant an honest warmth that more precious metals sometimes lack. Thread it onto a thin black cord for daily puja mornings, or hang it from a delicate gold-toned chain to accompany a silk kurta on Ganesh Chaturthi. It sits equally well against a cotton shirt on quieter, ordinary days when one simply wishes to carry a small devotion close. Designed at free size, the pendant suits any chain width. The brass will deepen gently with wear, developing a patina that only adds character. A soft cloth brings back the original lustre when desired.
