Description

There is something quietly ceremonial about a flower held still in silver. This adjustable ring centres a lustrous freshwater pearl within a fully bloomed floral setting, its petals built up in stone-studded relief against a silver-finished brass base. The motif belongs to a long lineage of Indian floristry in metal, echoing the moulded blossom work seen in the workshop traditions of Jaipur and Bikaner, where brass is treated not as a lesser material but as a canvas for considered surface decoration. Each petal is edged and populated with small set stones that catch light the way a garden catches morning: incrementally, and with restraint. The silver finish lends the piece a cool, almost antique character, reminiscent of oxidised silver jewellery from Bengal and the older bazaars of Rajasthan. At 5 grams, it wears without effort. The ring pairs naturally with ivory and ecru handloom cotton for a daytime puja or a slow Sunday at a heritage property. In the evening, it reads beautifully against the silk zari border of a Banarasi saree, where its floral architecture echoes the woven motifs around the wrist. The adjustable shank accommodates most finger sizes comfortably, opening and closing with gentle pressure. The ring face spans 1.1 inches (approximately 2.8 cm) in diameter, providing genuine presence without excess. Brass construction keeps the piece sturdy for regular wear, and the silver finish requires only occasional gentle buffing to maintain its quiet, considered lustre.
