Description

A bird caught mid-song, rendered in sterling silver, pinned to the chest like a quiet declaration. The brooch is shaped as a single bird in profile, its body formed from oxidised sterling silver that carries the warm, pewter-like depth of a hand-finished surface. At its centre, a pink stone catches the light with the gentle flush of a pale rose, set in a simple bezel that lets the colour speak without ornament. The silhouette, just four centimetres tall and roughly one-and-a-half centimetres wide (1.5 inches by 0.5 inches), has the economical grace of silverwork long associated with artisan traditions across Rajasthan and Bengal, where carvers and chasers learn to let a small surface carry great feeling. At six grams, the piece sits with surprising substance on the hand before pinning; nothing rattles, nothing flexes. Wear it on the lapel of a raw-silk kurta at a winter cultural evening, where its antique finish reads as intentional and considered. Pin it to the breast pocket of a linen blazer for a literary gathering or an art-house afternoon, where understated silver speaks louder than statement gold. The standard pin-back closure holds cleanly through most fabrics, from georgette to fine wool. The free-size nature of a brooch means it travels effortlessly between wardrobes and wearers. At this weight and scale, it neither pulls the cloth nor demands constant adjustment, making it a genuinely wearable everyday companion.
