Cast in sterling silver and centred on a radiant sun motif, this pendant draws from a long tradition of celestial imagery in Indian silverwork, where the surya has held its place in devotional and adornment vocabularies alike. The silver is worked to hold a single gemstone at the sun's heart, chosen from a considered palette: the violet depth of amethyst, the cool opacity of black onyx, the shifting pewter-blue of labradorite, the earthy midnight of lapis lazuli, the saturine green of malachite, the quiet lustre of pearl, the spectral glow of rainbow moonstone, or the dusty warmth of turquoise.
