Description

There are stones that carry the sky inside them, and lapis lazuli is the oldest proof of that. This sterling silver ring centres a round-cut lapis lazuli, its deep Prussian blue unmarked by artifice, set into a burnished bezel that holds the stone flush and secure. The silverwork belongs to a tradition of restrained craftsmanship where the metal serves the gem rather than competing with it. Sterling silver, known for its cool weight and lasting lustre, forms a low-profile band that rises just half an inch (approximately 1.3 cm) at its tallest point. The piece weighs a settled 6 grams, present on the finger without being imposing. Lapis, mined across centuries and prized across courts from Rajputana to the Mughal zenana, needs no embellishment; the round cut here simply opens the stone to light, letting the mineral's natural gold flecking emerge at its own pace. Wear this ring alone with a cream chanderi kurta for a mid-afternoon meeting, or stack it with two plain silver bands on the ring finger against a deep indigo sharara for an evening gathering. The blue reads as both classical and quietly contemporary. Available in size 8, the bezel setting protects the stone at the edges while the smooth sterling band sits comfortably against adjacent fingers. The finish resists everyday tarnish well with minimal care, making this a ring one reaches for without deliberation, season after season.
