Description

There is a quietness to silver that gold cannot replicate, and this ring understands that completely. Set at its centre is a single circular gemstone, cradled in a clean bezel of sterling silver, polished to a cool, understated lustre. The silhouette is deliberately spare: a slim band rising to a low, domed profile of just 0.35 inches (approximately 0.9 cm) in height, the whole piece weighing a gentle 1.5 grams on the finger. This is silversmithing in the tradition of India's quieter craft lineages, where restraint is the point and the stone is allowed to speak. Choose from three stones, each with its own character: labradorite, with its shifting blue-green schiller that moves like light on still water; black onyx, polished to a depth that absorbs rather than reflects; and rainbow moonstone, whose adularescence seems to hold a small sky captive inside it. Sterling silver, hallmarked and bright, is the only fitting companion for stones this elemental. Wear the labradorite version with a slate-grey silk kurta at an evening gathering, where the stone's colour-shift will catch candlelight beautifully. The black onyx reads equally well against a white cotton shirt at a weekday lunch, its contrast clean and confident.
