Description

There is a quietness to smoky quartz that silver alone seems to understand. This ring pairs a faceted smoky quartz cabochon with a sterling silver band worked into a clean bezel setting, allowing the stone's warm grey-brown depth to speak without distraction. Smoky quartz has long held a place in Indian silver craft traditions, particularly in Rajasthan, where artisans in Jaipur have spent generations cutting and setting semi-precious stones into silver with a restrained precision that modern jewellery rarely matches. The bezel here hugs the stone snugly, a collet of burnished sterling that frames rather than crowds. At just 1.3 grams and a profile of 0.35 inches (approximately 0.9 cm) in height, the ring sits close to the finger with no awkward projection. The sterling silver carries a smooth, lightly polished finish that lets the stone's natural smoky translucence remain the focal point. Wear it on a bare hand against a cream silk kurta for an understated evening gathering, or layer it with a fine gold bangle and a printed cotton dress on a casual afternoon in the city. It reads equally well with heritage and contemporary dressing. Available in sizes 5.5 and 7, this ring is suited to daily wear with minimal fuss. Sterling silver at this weight requires only a soft cloth to maintain its sheen, and the close-set bezel protects the stone reliably through regular use.
