Description

There are pendants that merely hang, and there are pendants that hold silence. This sterling silver pendant is built by the rawa technique, a tradition of granulation in which minute silver grains are fused one by one onto a formed base to create surface that is at once dense and luminous. The method demands a steadiness of hand that takes years to learn, and the result is a textured field that catches light without any polish, without any theatre. At the centre sits an oval lemon quartz, its pale citrine warmth making the cool silver feel warmer in return. The pendant measures five centimetres in height and just over three centimetres in width (2 x 1.2 inches), with a depth of one and a half centimetres (0.65 inch), and it weighs a substantial 38.27 grams, a presence you feel the moment you lift it. Worn on a raw silk kurta in ivory or champagne, it reads as quiet ceremonial. Paired with a handloom cotton sari in pale grey or eau-de-nil, it becomes the only ornament a discerning wearer needs for a daytime cultural gathering or a festive lunch. The piece is in sterling silver throughout, which means it will age gracefully and respond well to gentle cleaning with a soft cloth. The pendant comes in standard free size, and the bail is proportioned to accommodate both fine chains and slightly heavier silver cords, making it genuinely versatile across dressing registers.
