Description

There are saints whose words outlived their centuries, and this pendant asks you to carry one of them close. Bhoja Bhagat, the beloved Gujarati poet-saint of the Vaishnava tradition, is rendered here in sterling silver with the quiet authority that only hand-finished metalwork can achieve. The portrait is worked in high relief, the figure emerging from a softly burnished ground in the manner of devotional silversmithing that has long been practised across western and northern India, where karigar workshops treat sacred portraiture with the same reverence as temple ritual objects. Sterling silver, an alloy celebrated for its cool lustre and resistance to tarnish when properly cared for, gives the piece a dignified weight: 6.12 grams of metal compressed into a compact silhouette measuring 1.3 inches in height by 0.75 inches in width (approximately 3.3 cm by 1.9 cm). The scale is intimate, almost medallion-like, and the finish reads as matte silver with selectively polished detail lines that define the saint's form without gilding or embellishment. Wear this pendant on a fine sterling or oxidised silver chain against a white or ivory Chanderi kurta for daily puja or quiet reflection. It sits equally well on a longer chain beneath a silk sari blouse, accompanying a moment of festival prayer with understated conviction. The free-size loop bail accommodates most chains. The piece is light enough for all-day wear and substantial enough to feel intentional, a small act of devotion in silver.
