Description

There is a quietness to silver that gold never quite achieves. This pendant pairs a smooth agate cabochon with a deep amethyst accent, set in sterling silver worked to a clean, contemporary silhouette. The agate, with its layered translucency, has been used in Indian jewellery traditions for centuries, particularly in Cambay and Rajasthan where stone-cutting families have refined the craft of shaping and polishing cabochons to bring out their natural banding. Here, the silver setting frames the stone with restrained precision, the metalwork staying slim and deliberate so that neither stone nor silver overpowers the other. The amethyst, in its characteristic violet depth, sits as a secondary accent, lending chromatic richness without drama. At 1.80 inches height by 0.80 inches width (approximately 4.6 cm by 2 cm), the pendant occupies the neckline with confidence, and its 6-gram weight in sterling silver gives it a satisfying, grounded presence. Worn against the collarbone on a fine silver chain, this pendant reads effortlessly with a soft linen kurta in ivory or a silk blouse in muted grey. It suits a working lunch as well as an evening gathering where understated jewellery is the considered choice. The pendant comes in free size, as a pendant drop only, and its sterling silver construction resists daily wear with reasonable care. The polished finish is smooth against the skin, the piece light enough to wear through long hours without fatigue.
