Description

There is something quietly architectural about a ring that lets light pass through it. Worked in sterling silver and finished in a warm gold plate, this lattice ring traces an open, grid-like framework across a band that rises nine millimetres from base to tip. The geometry is deliberate: intersecting lines held in tension, each junction a small point of craft where the silversmith has controlled the negative space as carefully as the metal itself. At just four grams, the piece sits with a featherlight honesty on the finger, the gold plate lending a honeyed warmth that reads as precious without pretension. The lattice silhouette belongs to a long tradition of pierced metalwork found across Rajasthan and Bengal, where karigars have long understood that the beauty of silver lies as much in what is removed as in what remains. Worn alone, it suits the spare aesthetic of a crisp cotton kurta or a linen co-ord in ivory or sand. Paired with two or three slim bangles in the same gold-toned silver, it reads effortlessly at a winter wedding mehendi or a gallery opening. The standard nine-millimetre height gives the ring a genuine presence on the finger without overwhelming a slender hand. Sterling silver, properly cared for with a soft cloth, holds its form well under daily wear, and the gold plate stays true through regular use when kept away from water and perfume.
