Description

There are devotions that ask nothing of you except that you carry them close. Shrinathji, the beloved child-form of Krishna worshipped with particular fervour in the Pushtimarg tradition of Nathdwara, is rendered here in sterling silver of considerable presence: 4.25 inches tall and 1.75 inches wide (approximately 10.8 cm by 4.4 cm), weighing a substantial 29 grams. The silverwork draws on a tradition of devotional jewellery long practised across Rajasthan, where temple imagery is treated not as decoration but as living presence. Stones are set into the silver ground in a manner that echoes the stone-studded shrine adornments of Nathdwara itself, while a border of pink beads softens the composition, lending it a warmth that recalls the rose-hued silk offerings draped at Shrinathji's feet. The finish reads as quietly oxidised, coaxing depth from every fold and feature of the deity's form. Wear it on a silk kurta in ivory or deep saffron for a morning of prayer or a festival gathering, where the pendant becomes a quiet statement of faith worn against the heart. It reads equally beautifully over a fine cotton hand-block tunic, the pink bead detailing picking up the warm tones of a floral print. The piece is a free size pendant, requiring only a chain of your choosing, and the sterling silver construction means it is robust enough for considered daily devotion without demanding anything elaborate in its care.
