Description

There are devotions that ask nothing of you but to carry them close. Khatu Shyam, the beloved form of Barbarika worshipped most fervently in Rajasthan, is rendered here in sterling silver with the gravity and tenderness that his following deserves. The pendant is cast and finished by hand, the deity's face and ceremonial crown worked into the silver's surface with the kind of careful relief that belongs to a long tradition of devotional silversmithing. Sterling silver, at its characteristic bright white lustre, catches the light without ostentation, letting the sacred iconography speak first. Measuring approximately 3.81 centimetres in height and 2.16 centimetres in width, and weighing a solid 6.95 grams, the pendant has a reassuring physical presence, neither too large to feel performative nor so small as to lose detail. A standard bail at the crown accommodates most chains. Worn on a fine silver box chain, this pendant sits beautifully against a white cotton kurta for daily puja mornings. It works equally well beneath the neckline of a silk dupatta during Ekadashi or Phalgun festival gatherings, a quiet mark of faith that needs no announcement. The sterling silver construction means the piece holds its form through years of daily wear, resisting the softness that lower silver grades develop over time. It is offered in free size, as a pendant should be, and arrives ready to be threaded onto a chain of your choosing or gifted as a devotional keepsake.
