Description

There are devotions that do not need a temple; sometimes, a single pendant carries the whole shrine. Khatu Shyamji, the compassionate folk deity worshipped fervently across Rajasthan and beyond, is rendered here in sterling silver with the quiet authority of a votive object made to last. The piece measures 1.15 inches in height by 0.8 inches in width (approximately 2.9 cm by 2 cm), and its 6.4 g weight sits with a pleasing solidity against the chest, never heavy, never insubstantial. Sterling silver, known for its 92.5 per cent pure silver composition, lends itself naturally to devotional iconography: its cool lustre softens with time into something almost antique, the way temple silver does. The portrait of Shyamji, with his characteristic peacock-feather crown rendered in fine relief, speaks to the silversmithing traditions of Rajasthan, where artisans have long translated sacred imagery into wearable form with exacting patience. Wear this pendant on a fine silver chain over a cream or ivory kurta at a morning puja, or layer it over a simple cotton saree for a Janmashtami celebration. It sits equally well against a crisp white shirt when faith travels quietly into the everyday. Free-sized and designed to suit a range of chain widths, the pendant arrives ready to wear. The polished silver finish resists everyday tarnish with minimal care; a soft cloth is all it requires to restore its temple-bright gleam.
