Description

There are stories that do not need a single word to be told. This circular pendant, one inch in diameter (approximately 2.5 cm), holds the entire Shiva Parivar within its round sterling silver frame: Shiva, Parvati, Ganesha and Kartikeya rendered together in fine relief, their forms interlocked with the quiet authority of a devotional tradition that runs deep through South Indian temple silverwork and the repoussé ateliers of Bengal and Nagercoil. The reverse carries the sacred syllable OM, cast in bold relief so that the pendant is complete and meaningful on both sides, a quality of double-sided craftsmanship that demands attention to finishing on every surface. Sterling silver lends the piece its cool, almost moonlit luminosity, and at ten grams the weight is substantive without being heavy, the metal polished to a clean bright finish that honours the sanctity of the iconography it carries. Wear it on a long silver chain over a Kanjivaram silk sari at a puja or family celebration, where its iconographic clarity will read beautifully against a richly woven border. For everyday wear, a shorter chain pairs it with a white kurta or linen shirt, the devotional motif sitting close to the heart. At one inch across, the pendant sits neatly at the collarbone or below, depending on chain length. Free-sized and self-contained, it requires no adjustment, and sterling silver's durability makes it entirely suited to daily, devoted wear.
