Description

There are devotions that do not require words, only symbols worn close to the heart. This brooch gathers the full grammar of Shaiva iconography into a single, considered composition: the Shiva Linga at centre, flanked by the Trishul rising from a bed of Rudraksha beads, and the Tripundra rendered in fine relief above. Cast in brass and finished in a warm antique gold tone, the piece measures approximately 6.2 cm in height by 2.5 cm in width, weighing just 8.61 grams. Brass, long the preferred metal of temple craft across South India and the devotional workshops of Rajasthan, carries a natural warmth that patinates beautifully over time. The raised relief work echoes the repoussé traditions seen in temple ornament, where every motif is deliberate, every line a liturgical choice rather than a decorative accident. Wear it pinned to the left breast of a handloom silk kurta for a festival puja, or fasten it to a Benarasi dupatta draped over formal occasion wear, letting the antiqued brass speak quietly against woven gold. At 2.45 inches tall, the brooch sits with presence without overwhelming a neckline. The pin fastening is straightforward and secure, requiring no special care. Brass at this weight is comfortable for extended wear and asks only for occasional gentle polishing to maintain its lustre. One size fits all standard garment weights.
