Description

Devotion, cast in silver, small enough to rest against the heart. The pendant depicts Radha and Krishna seated together, a motif that has moved through centuries of Indian devotional iconography, from temple gopurams to the intimate scale of personal ornament. Rendered in sterling silver, the composition carries the quiet authority of a votive object: two figures, unhurried, in a posture of divine companionship. At 1.5 inches in height and 1.2 inches in width (approximately 3.8 cm by 3 cm), the piece occupies exactly the space a pendant should, present without overwhelming. Weighing 8.1 grams, the silver has enough substance to feel deliberate in the hand. The finish, as pictured, reads with the luminous, slightly oxidised depth that is characteristic of fine devotional silverwork, a tradition kept alive in centres such as Nagercoil and parts of Bengal, where craftsmen have long translated sacred imagery into wearable form. It suits a cream or ivory kurta worn to a morning puja, the silver catching the softer light of an interior. It reads equally well against the neckline of a silk saree at a family gathering, worn close and quietly personal. The free size pendant arrives ready to thread onto a chain of the wearer's choosing, whether a fine box chain or a traditional black silk cord. Sterling silver rewards occasional polishing with a soft cloth and remains a considered, enduring choice for everyday devotional wear.
