Description

There are prayers that ask for nothing except the pleasure of remembering. This pendant renders Chaturbhuja Ganesha, the four-armed remover of obstacles, in sterling silver, his figure cast in full relief and finished in a warm, oxidised vintage tone that draws every carved detail into relief: the modak cradled in one hand, the broken tusk, the gracefully bent trunk, the jewelled crown. The seated posture is unhurried, almost meditative, and the silverwork belongs to a long tradition of devotional craft in which the divine is made intimate through patient hand-finishing rather than mechanical polish. The vintage colour finish, achieved through careful controlled oxidation, gives the surface the patina of an heirloom piece, as though it has already gathered decades of quiet veneration. The pendant is offered in three sizes, from a discreet one inch by 0.6 cm version to the principal 1.55-inch by 1.35-inch (roughly 3.9 cm by 3.4 cm) form, and weighs a grounded 7.83 grams in sterling silver. Worn on a fine silver chain against an ivory chanderi kurta, it reads as an understated act of faith. Equally, it suits the neckline of a dark silk blouse paired with a Kanjeevaram, where its warm oxidised silver holds its own beside heavier gold. The pendant sits comfortably at the chest, its weight substantial enough to feel present without pulling. The vintage finish resists the bright scratches of daily wear, and a light polish cloth restores its depth whenever needed.
