Description
There is a quiet transparency to rutilated quartz that no other stone quite replicates. Each bead in this strand carries within it fine threads of golden rutile, nature's own inlay suspended in colourless crystal, shifting between silver and amber as the light moves. The chips are left in their natural, tumbled form rather than faceted to a uniform geometry, which means no two beads read identically. Strung continuously across a generous thirty-four inches, or roughly eighty-six centimetres, the necklace holds approximately four hundred and ten beads, each averaging seven millimetres, and the whole strand rests at fifty grams: substantial enough to feel considered on the body, light enough to wear without fatigue. This is the lapidary tradition of natural gemstone beading, practised widely in Jaipur's stone-cutting ateliers, where raw mineral character is preserved rather than polished away. The long rope silhouette lends itself to doubling. Worn as a single unbroken fall over a fine cotton kurta, it reads as something meditative, almost minimal. Doubled into a shorter loop over a cream silk blouse, it becomes genuinely decorative, pairing well with antique gold or uncut Polki ear studs for an evening that asks for restraint without plainness. One size fits all, and the continuous strand needs no clasp or closure, simply looped or knotted to preference. The natural finish requires no maintenance beyond a soft wipe. At this accessible price, it is a piece that invites daily wear without anxiety.
