Description
There are prayers that do not require a temple, only intention and the right adornment. This set brings together two of Shaivism's most enduring symbols: the rudraksha bead and the trishul. Cast in brass and finished to catch the light with the warm, unhurried glow particular to that metal, the lapel pin rises to a height of 3.4 inches (approximately 8.6 cm) across a width of 1 inch (approximately 2.5 cm), while the brooch measures 2 inches (approximately 5 cm) in height and 1.5 inches (approximately 3.8 cm) in width. The combined weight of 28 grams gives both pieces satisfying presence without burdening fine fabric. Brass, long favoured in devotional metalwork across Rajasthan and the temple-craft ateliers of South India, carries a patina of spiritual legitimacy; here it lends itself to the bold geometry of the trident and the organic, almost tactile rendering of the rudraksha. These are motifs that have lived on prayer beads, temple doors and the foreheads of ascetics, and they translate with quiet authority into wearable form. Pin the trishul to the lapel of a raw-silk achkan for a wedding reception; wear the brooch at the collar of a handloom kurta during Mahashivratri or any occasion where devotion and elegance are meant to coexist. Both closures are standard pin-backs, practical against heavier fabrics. Free-sized and universally wearable, this set requires no adjustment and rewards anyone who wishes to carry something ancient and considered close to the heart.
