Description

There are syllables that carry centuries, and Om is one of them. Cast in brass and finished to a warm, burnished tone, this circular pendant centres on the sacred Om symbol, its curves and hook rendered with quiet confidence against a round frame that measures just one inch in height (approximately 2.5 cm) and 0.85 inches in width (approximately 2.2 cm). Stone studding traces the motif and its border, each small setting catching light with modest brilliance, the way devotional jewellery is meant to: not to dazzle, but to ground. Brass, long favoured in temple traditions from Nagercoil in the south to the ateliers of Bikaner in the north, carries a living warmth that gold-toned metals can seldom match. At 4.8 grams, the pendant has genuine presence without weight, the kind of piece that sits close to the skin and quietly means something. Wear it on a fine black cord against a cotton kurta in ivory or terracotta for a morning of reflection or a festival morning at the mandir. It settles just as naturally against the neckline of a linen shirt for a more composed, contemporary reading of devotion. Free-sized in its fitting, the pendant is designed to thread onto cords or chains of varying gauges with ease. The brass finish, inherently antimicrobial and sympathetic to daily wear, will deepen in character over time, requiring only an occasional gentle polish to retain its warmth.
