Description

There are syllables that do not need translation, and Om is one of them. Cast in warm, honey-toned brass, this pendant carries the sacred Om symbol within a clean circular frame, the kind of geometry that feels both ancient and unhurried. Brass has been the working metal of temple craftsmen and street-side artisans alike, valued not for its preciousness but for its depth of colour and willingness to hold form. The circular silhouette, measuring 1.2 inches in height by 1 inch in width (approximately 3 cm by 2.5 cm), gives the symbol its own contained universe: a mandala in miniature. The Om itself is rendered with confident relief, the curves and tail of the Devanagari form sitting naturally against the rounded border. At 5.1 grams, the pendant carries just enough weight to feel considered without burdening the neck. Wear it threaded on a black waxed cord for a pared-down, contemplative look with a handloom cotton kurta in ivory or slate grey. It reads equally well on a fine yellow-metal chain alongside a silk sari blouse at a festival puja or family gathering where devotion is quietly acknowledged rather than announced. The free-size bail accommodates most standard chains and cords without adjustment. The brass finish will deepen gently with time and handling, developing a patina that only adds character. A soft dry cloth is all the care it requires between wearings.
