Description
Where Shiva and Shakti meet at the axis of creation, a single pendant holds the whole cosmos. Cast in sterling silver and finished by hand, this circular pendant measures approximately five centimetres in height and four and a half centimetres in width, weighing a precise ten point seven grams. Its subject is Ardhanarishvara, the composite deity who unites the masculine and feminine into one indivisible form, rendered here through the ancient tradition of hand painting directly onto silver. The technique calls on the miniature painting heritage that flourished across Rajasthan, where artists trained in the Bikaner and Jaipur schools learnt to compress narrative and devotion into a few square centimetres of surface. The circular silhouette frames the figure with an almost mandala-like completeness, the painted pigments held within a sterling silver border that gives the piece both structural strength and a quiet restraint. This pendant moves naturally between the sacred and the sartorial. Worn on a long silver chain over a handloom cotton kurta, it becomes a statement of quiet spiritual intention; paired with a silk blouse and a zardozi shawl for a festive evening, it anchors the look with grounded iconographic beauty. The free-size bail accommodates chains of varying thickness, and the sterling silver construction ensures lasting durability with minimal upkeep. A gentle wipe with a soft cloth preserves the painted surface. At just over ten grams, it sits comfortably throughout a full day of wear.
