Description

There are stones that carry the forest inside them, and ruby zoisite is one. This round-cut pendant holds a single cabochon of ruby zoisite, its surface a conversation between deep crimson ruby inclusions and the mossy, earthy green of zoisite matrix. No two stones are alike in their patterning, which makes each piece quietly singular. The setting is sterling silver, worked into a clean bezel that encircles the stone without crowding it, allowing the natural colour play to speak for itself. Sterling silver in this context honours a long tradition of Indian stone-set silver jewellery, particularly the inlay and bezel work associated with Rajasthan and the Deccan, where silversmiths have long understood that the right metal can hold a stone the way soil holds a root. The pendant measures approximately 2.4 cm in height by 1.1 cm in width and weighs just 3 grams, a precise and considered proportion. Wear it threaded on a fine silver chain over a white cotton kurta for an afternoon meeting, or layer it against a deep olive silk blouse for a cultural evening where understatement becomes its own statement. The round silhouette and neutral metal make it a natural companion to both minimal and layered looks. The sterling silver finish resists tarnish with ordinary care, and the bezel setting protects the stone through daily wear. Free size and featherlight at 3 grams, it is the kind of piece one reaches for without thinking, and notices only when someone else does first.
