Description

There is something quietly grounding about a stone that holds the colour of monsoon clouds. Smoky quartz, in its most honest round-cut faceted form, has long been a favourite of silver workers across Rajasthan and the artisan quarters of Jaipur, where sterling silver is shaped, polished and set by hand into sober, wearable forms. This ring presents a single round stone, approximately 7 mm at its height, cradled in a close bezel or prong setting that keeps the metal spare and the stone central. Sterling silver, cool-toned and honestly weighted at just 2 grams, suits the stone's smoky grey-brown depth without competing with it. The result is a ring with a restrained silhouette: no filigree, no embellishment beyond the geometry of the cut itself, where each facet catches light at a different angle and shifts the stone from taupe to near-charcoal depending on the hour. Wear it against a handwoven silk kurta in ivory or stone for a quiet afternoon lunch, or slide it onto a finger alongside delicate gold bands for an evening where you want one grounded, earthy note among brighter metals. It moves between registers without effort. Available in size 8, this ring weighs 2 grams and sits lightly on the hand. Sterling silver develops a gentle patina over time; a soft cloth restores its original brightness. The low profile makes it comfortable beneath a cuff or sleeve, suitable for daily wear without reservation.
