Description

There is a quietness to rose quartz that silver seems to understand instinctively. This pendant is wrought in sterling silver, a metal prized across India's silver-working traditions from the ateliers of Jaipur to the coastal workshops of Nagercoil, where artisans have long understood how oxidised and polished finishes can animate a single surface. Here, the rose quartz stone, pale and luminous as winter dawn, is held in a bezel or prong setting that frames its natural translucency without interrupting it. The pendant measures two inches in height and one inch in width, roughly five by two and a half centimetres, and at twenty-nine grams it carries a pleasing weight when it rests against the collarbone. Sterling silver at this gauge develops a gentle patina over time, one that only deepens the warmth of the blush stone it cradles. Wear it over a cream silk kurta for a festive afternoon gathering, where the soft pink of the quartz echoes dupatta embroidery without competing with it. For quieter days, it sits beautifully against a fine cashmere or merino roll-neck, the silver cool against the texture.
