Description

There are nights when the moon refuses to be only one colour. This ring is built around a cabochon rainbow moonstone, its surface alive with that characteristic adularescence, the soft blue-white fire that shifts with every movement of the hand. The setting is sterling silver, worked into a low bezel or prong cradle that holds the stone without overwhelming it. Sterling silver, an alloy prized for its cool, bright finish and its honest weight, has a long tradition in Indian jewellery making, particularly in Rajasthan and parts of Bengal, where silversmiths have long understood how the metal flatters pale, luminous stones better than gold ever could. The ring stands 10 mm in height, a presence on the finger that is architectural without being theatrical, and weighs just 2 grams, so it sits lightly through a long day. Wear it against a fine cotton kurta in ivory or grey for an afternoon gathering where the stone can catch natural light. It is equally at home alongside an embroidered silk blouse at an intimate evening dinner, where candlelight will draw out its violet and peach undertones. At 2 grams, this is a ring built for genuine daily wear. The sterling silver is durable enough for regular use and develops a gentle patina over time that only deepens its character. It is sized by height at 10 mm, fitting most finger profiles with quiet ease.
