Description

There are nights when the moon does not shine down but sideways, through water. This pendant draws from that quiet, lateral light. The rainbow moonstone at its heart is set in sterling silver, a metal chosen not for opulence but for its cool, almost pewter-like honesty, which lets the stone's adularescence speak without competition. Moonstone, long associated with the jewellers of Rajasthan and the silver-working traditions of Bengal, has been prized in Indian craft for its dreaming, cloud-like interior. Here, the setting holds the stone in what appears to be a bezel or prong cradle, framing its natural play of blue and white light within a silhouette that measures 1.5 inches (approximately 3.8 cm) in height and 1 inch (approximately 2.5 cm) in width.
