Description

There are love stories the hands remember before the mind does. This pendant renders the eternal union of Radha and Krishna in sterling silver, the flute-playing Krishna turned gently towards Radha in a composition that is devotional yet deeply intimate. The motif belongs to a long tradition of votive silverwork found across temple towns from Nagercoil in the south to the silver-smithing ateliers of Rajasthan, where artisans translate divine narrative into wearable form with a patience that resists hurry. Cast and hand-finished in sterling silver, the piece weighs seven grams and stands one and a quarter inches, approximately three point two centimetres, in height. The surface carries the softly oxidised detailing that gives figurative silver its depth, allowing Krishna's peacock crown and Radha's posture to read clearly at pendant scale. No stones interrupt the purity of the metalwork; the craft speaks entirely through form and finish. Wear it on a fine sterling chain over a cream silk kurta for a festive morning puja, or layer it against the neckline of a deep-toned Kanjeevaram blouse where the silver catches the weave's own light. It moves as comfortably through a quiet Janmashtami gathering as it does through an ordinary Tuesday. At one and a quarter inches tall and free in size, the pendant is lightweight enough for daily wear without catching on fabric. The sterling silver will develop a gentle patina over time, deepening rather than diminishing its character.
