Description

There are devotions that ask to be worn close to the heart. Chaturbhuj, the four-armed form of Ganesha, has been a favourite motif among the goldsmiths of Rajasthan for centuries, and this pendant honours that lineage with quiet authority. Cast in brass silver alloy, the silhouette rises to four and a half inches (approximately 11.4 cm) in height and spans two and a half inches (approximately 6.4 cm) across, giving the figure the commanding presence of a votive object rather than mere adornment. Polki stones, uncut and foil-backed in the manner associated with the ateliers of Jaipur, are set across the body of the deity, their raw mineral light catching the eye without demanding it. Below the figure, a fringe of pearl bead drops adds a softness that balances the geometric weight of the setting. The piece weighs 92 grams, a substantiality that speaks to the density of the metalwork beneath. Pair this pendant with a raw silk kurta in ivory or dusty rose for a festive puja gathering, or wear it against a deep wine Banarasi for a wedding celebration where devotion and dress become a single gesture. The piece comes in free size, suited to most chain gauges and cord thicknesses. The brass silver alloy base wears well with minimal care; keep it away from moisture and store it wrapped in muslin to preserve the lustre of both metal and pearl.
