Description

There are rings that carry the memory of a garden, and this is one of them. Crafted in warm-toned brass, this Kashmiri-inspired piece centres on a pink floral mandala rendered in careful relief, its petals radiating outward in the symmetrical grammar of a courtly ornament. The mandala tradition in Kashmiri jewellery draws on centuries of devotional geometry, where the flower is never purely decorative but holds a quiet, ordered meaning. What lifts this ring from the expected is the ghungroo drop suspended beneath the setting: a single brass bell, the same small instrument stitched along the anklets of classical dancers, here reimagined as a pendant accent that moves and catches light with the wearer's hand. Measuring 1.05 inches in height by 1.35 inches in width (approximately 2.7 cm by 3.4 cm), the piece weighs 22 grams, giving it a satisfying presence on the finger without tipping into excess. Wear it with a hand-block-printed cotton kurta for an afternoon gathering where heritage dressing is effortless rather than formal. It reads equally well against the embroidered cuff of a Lucknowi chikankari tunic at a festive mehendi, where the ghungroo's subtle chime becomes part of the occasion's texture. The adjustable shank fits most finger sizes with ease, making this a practical choice for gifting. Brass holds its warmth well with minimal upkeep; a soft dry cloth is sufficient to restore its glow between wearings.
